This is a Trust set up by iconic actor Kamal Haasan and Rajeev Nambiar, the CEO of Hello FM, the latter in his personal capacity, to support vulnerable children in Tamil Nadu.

The Trust was registered in November 2011 but the activities have been conducted since 2009 in partnership with PSI (Population Services International), an international NGO.

PSI's role was to help set up programs that others could carry forward. In this case, PTP Trust is continuing to carry those efforts forward.

No. The Trust is a secular organisation and does not work with any specific religious affiliations.

The donations will help build a pool of funds from where support will be extended to vulnerable children and in particular the HIV positive children covered under our campaign for medical support, education, counselling and other activities the Trust deems as important.

Since HIV positive children are especially at risk to contract various infections and do fall sick more often than normal persons or children, medical support will be a priority. In addition monitoring and mentoring these children is an important aspect of their support. With improving drug protocols, these children are living longer lives so our efforts will also be directed at educating them to help them stand on their own feet. Your contribution will assist these efforts.

Your contribution will go into the pool of funds and we will be extending support based on the special needs and circumstances of our children. Keeping this in mind, we cannot guarantee that your money will be used specifically for education only.

At this point of time, we are not accepting in kind contributions. However, we will get back to you in case we want in kind contributions as well.

These children are located in various parts of Tamil Nadu

Yes, we organise periodic donor visits to various orphanages/homes where these children are present. You can inform us of your interest to visit and we will get in touch with you when we do organise the visit. However, you will not be able to visit these institutions on your own without prior information to us.

This discrimination takes place in many ways: like being asked not to attend school, being forbidden to play with other children, being refused rental accommodation, being refused treatment in hospitals, etc.
